EVE IN FRANCOIS
EVE AND ELIJAH - THE LOVE STORY
HOW DID YOU AND YOUR PARTNER MEET?
We had known of each other for a few years, but spoke for the first time at a local swimming carnival when I was 16 and he was 17.
Was there a moment you knew they were “the one”?
We actually dated when we were younger and then spent a few years apart to pursue our own careers and goals. We coincidentally reconnected on Hamilton Island in 2021, and that was the moment I knew I would marry him.
Can you share a little about your proposal?
Elijah told me he’d organised a private dinner to celebrate my birthday. What I didn’t realise was that he had planned something far more incredible hundreds of roses and candles arranged across the deck of the Queensland State Library. With the city lights and river sparkling behind him, he got down on one knee. It was just the two of us, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
The Wedding
How would you describe the feeling or atmosphere you wanted for your wedding day?
We wanted our wedding day to feel deeply authentic guided by faith, filled with emotion, and overflowing with joy. It was important to us that the ceremony carried a sense of depth and commitment, with our personal vows at the heart of it all, while still weaving in lightness through laughter and the voices of those we love. Beyond that, we wanted everyone in the room to truly have fun, to savour the food and drinks, to dance the night away, and to leave with memories they would carry forever.
Did you have any particular inspiration, theme, or vision in mind?
The vision for our wedding was inspired by timeless elegance, with a modern romantic edge. The ceremony was brought to life by a three-piece orchestra and
live singing, with white bows adorning the pews for a soft, romantic touch. We drew inspiration from the grandeur of old-money venues, filling them with an abundance of white flowers, black bows, and the warm glow of candelabras
as table centrepieces. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet deeply intimate, elevated further by our guests in black-tie attire—all dressed in black—creating a striking contrast against the softness of the florals and venue space. The result was a celebration that felt both classic and contemporary, a true reflection of enduring love wrapped in refined beauty.
What drew you to Ella Moda?
I was drawn to Ella Moda for her timeless textures and elegant fabrics. Her designs feature exquisite silhouettes with a modern twist on classic pieces, and the Chantilly lace details were unlike anything I had seen before—delicate, intricate, and utterly breathtaking. From the start, I knew I wanted to explore the concept of layering different pieces within a single look, and the quality of her lace was simply unmatched.
Can you describe the moment you first tried on your gown?
The moment I found my dress at my first fitting at Ella Moda felt beautifully natural. It was the last gown I tried on, and not even one I had initially picked out. Yet the moment I walked out, everyone gasped and knew instantly—it was the one. I spent a little time experimenting with different pieces, and within days, I had decided on the complete look. From that moment on, I never looked back, and I found myself loving it more with every passing day.
My 3m long blusher veil with lace trimming.
What was the most emotional moment for you on the day?
Definitely walking down the aisle and saying our personal vows in front of all the people we love.
How did your partner react when they first saw you in your gown?
When my Husband and family first saw me in my gown, there were tears of joy and beaming smiles all around. Their opinions meant so much to me
and hearing them say I looked truly beautiful made the moment even more unforgettable. If you could relive one moment, what would it be? The moment the church doors opened, and I saw Elijah waiting at the altar.

In one word, how did you feel walking down the aisle?
Blissful
How did your gown make you feel throughout the day?
My gown made me feel like a true bride, embodying
the vision I had for this day. It made me feel exactly as I wanted when I stood to say my vows to my now husband—beautiful, radiant, and completely myself. Every detail, from the delicate lace to the layered pieces, allowed me to feel both elegant and free, perfectly capturing the joy, love, and magic of the moment.
What advice would you give brides just beginning their gown journey?
Let your heart guide you, honour your unique journey, and treasure every moment—it won’t come again.
