The first step in your custom gown process is to sit down together to explore your vision and any inspiration images. From there, you’ll try on some of our current styles, helping us decide whether we embark on a complete custom creation or refine an existing design to perfectly align with your dream gown.

Once the desired silhouette for the bodice and skirt is established, we’ll follow with a meticulous exploration of fabric options. Expert guidance is provided, shedding light on the distinct characteristics and aesthetics of various fabrics. Once the outer lace or fabric is chosen, we’ll consider different lining options, as well as the optimal placement of lining within the gown, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable on your wedding day.

Your bridal consultant will then create a sketch of your design, followed by a quotation. Both the sketch and quotation will be emailed to you within *days. Should you have any feedback, the sketch will be adjusted accordingly. Once you’ve confirmed the sketch and quote, you’ll be required to pay a 50% deposit so that we can begin to order the necessary fabrics.

6 months before your wedding, you’ll come into the studio so we can take your measurements. At this time you’ll also receive a swatch of your gown fabrics which you can take for shoe, accessories and bridesmaid shopping.

4 months before your wedding, your fitting appointments will begin. There are 4 fittings before you collect your gown, allowing us ample opportunity to ensure your gown is everything you dreamed of.

(14-16 weeks before wedding)

A sample of your gown will be created in calico fabric so that we can properly assess the shape and fit of your gown. We will consider where the waistline is sitting, the shape and height of the neck and backline, and the fit of the skirt over your hips.

(10-12 weeks before wedding)

Once we are happy with the fit in calico – which may take multiple fittings – our dressmakers will cut the gown in your chosen lining layer fabrics. We will then bring you in for a second fitting in the actual fabric.

(6-8 weeks before wedding)

At this point, your gown will be complete except for the hem. At your third fitting we will pin your hem, so you will need to bring your shoes to this appointment to ensure an accurate measurement. You will also decide on your veil and accessories at this fitting.

(2 weeks before the wedding)

Your gown will be complete at this point. We will do a final check of the fit, hem, lace placement and veil at this appointment. This is the opportunity to make any last-minute adjustments.

One week before your wedding you can collect your completed gown. We will provide you with a dress bag and hanger as well as care instructions so that your gown is perfect on your wedding day.
